also has 10%+ cashback from various sites making it < $4 for a pair of shin guards, shipped. A kid on our team just got his tibula fractured cause the shin pad didn't cover enough area, always wear your shin pads, folks.

Recommend ordering large for your teenagers. These are tiny. Large is too small for adults. Small is for very little kids.

Shinguards like this are good for practice and forwards who want the tiniest possible shinguards that will pass ref inspection. If you're wearing $300 ultralight cleats you'll also want the lightest shinguards you can get away with.

Not sure if the size chart is 100% accurate for these specific guards. On the site, someone left a review in which they purchased a medium, but it was for 3'11" - 4'7". need a pair for the kiddo, but just unsure of which size to get.

My kids try to get away with the minimum so if they are a little small they won't care.

The purpose of shinguards is to actually guard your shins. In recent times it has become the trend to wear smaller and smaller shinguards . many kids at our youth competitive practices sometimes even wear notion guards at all. With the sport primarily being played at the lower level near the feet, having protection for your shins is essential. At the youth level, having a slightly larger or bulkier shin guard is not going to make your child a better player. If the kid has skills, it has skills and will dominate regardless. Lighter cleats or smaller shinguards isn't going to make your player better. These things could potentially be an advantage for a much more developed player trying to gain the edge, but keep in mind with less protection also comes more risk of injury. This would be like a football player choosing to wear a thinner helmet.

Wish I'd read this before ordering. Thought these were adult sizes... received the S and the package listed: up to 3'11'. Does not offer enough protection except for MAYBE U8 players. Going to donate it to the local soccer programs for little kids.
