250-nits, 45% NTSC is a bogus panel. 8gig of ram, not so much.

RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded.

Good luck!

Just got this, really impressed with the build quality and how quick it is. Much better than my work laptop and having a large screen to use as a tablet is cool. $500 out the door with one year of Plus Membership. There is a Dell for like $330 with similar specs.

Yes, it's only 8GB RAM, but for $399 it's not bad at all. Not everyone needs 16GB of RAM. I'm a property engineer on the weekends for a few higher end hotels here, and we had to upgrade some of the point-of-sale systems from Oracle to Toast last fall. The IT guy from Toast who flew in to help us out had one of those ancient Macbook Air 11-inch from ~2013 with 4GB of RAM! I socialized a lot with him and that was his only laptop - from using it to help configure our routers, our new POS, writing up his daily reports, etc. I also develop apps on the cloud and I did everything with my ancient Thinkpad T440 8GB RAM laptop (that's what I used up until 2023). All of the code you write is through Chrome and compiled in the cloud.
