Don't they have one year warranty?
it is for occasional hiking, not everyday walking 😂

One-year warranty? I wish. I called WM customer service. I just received a sorry. Well, FYI, I'm a regular-size guy(5.8" 151lbs) if so-called 'hiking shoes' couldn't withstand normal indoor work activities.... I'm pretty sure these shoes are junk😆

I purchased the most expensive ($102) Columbia Brand hiking boot [amazon.com] last December. It got broken on my first trip hiking. The good news is that I had a chance to return to Amazon. I cannot believe the quality when many manufacturer moved to Vietnam

It's the parking lot at Starbucks that's killing at The Hiking Shoes.
Use the drive-thru ….

Update! They've arrived! And wow! They are quite a bit upgraded from the costco ones I purchased years back. The bottoms entirely made of grippy rubber (pretty thick too), not mix EVA foam /w rubber contact points! Also, they are considerably stiffer and more stout then the costco's. Which is both good and bad depending on what you were going for. They seem much more heavy duty... but that means they're also heavier and not quite as malleable. Costco's versions required no break-in - they were soft out of the gate. These feel like they would need to break-in. The fabric on top has a mesh lining on the inside making it waterproof too! Again, good and bad depending on what you were going for. They likely won't breath as well but you get waterproofing. It's like everything is different except the styling is the exact same. 🤷 I'm actually pleasantly surprised by all of this and I feel amazed you can buy shoes of this caliber for 16 bucks.

I know someone else already commented with their bad experience with them but I can't imagine these would fall apart so quickly. I guess we'll see. But for the price, I absolutely cannot see how you can go wrong. Sucks that they're sold out and the deal is dead already.

👍 Thanks! In for 2 when they came back in stock. Been using these as hikers for many years. Typically last about 3 months of heavy daily use. But that's what the much more expensive ones have lasted for me too.

I would not have bought these for hiking if I had seen (felt) them first. The sole is stiff.

That's exactly the same thinking and first impression I had when I received my order last year!
I would appreciate it if you were able to PM me, or reply after several months of wearing 'em

In my experience, this material will go off first (refer to the pic). I have 2 pairs. Both have the same issue

yes, I had many Columbias footwear and clothes, it was great quality when they were made in China...
New one comes from Vietnam , the shoes just could not hold together , the quality is worse than $20 Walmart shoes

I'll watch those areas. 3 months seems awfully short. But I suppose it depends on what you do with them. Like for example, is your day job a cushy desk job or something like a mechanic. Obviously those would have tremendously different wear. Do you kneel down a lot, do a lot of walking? Stuff like that. For me, I'm a cushy desk job kinda guy but I do enjoy light mountain biking and outdoor stuff, weather permitted. But my favorite style of shoe is a trail hiker, even if I'm just getting groceries or whatever. That's what I'm buying these for. The regular day to day though I'll give them a few runs on my mountain bike anyway just to see how they handle it.

Or, just a theory, perhaps because the sole is so stiff, they delaminate easier from the contact points due to inflexibility. I certainly hope that's not the case but I can see that being a possibility. I'm used to doing minor repairs on my shoes, hence the shoe goo purchase but I would be annoyed if they fell apart *that* easy. I'll follow up in a few months.

Well, I think I'm just a regular non-heavy, just a regular worker. I deal mainly with computers, some non-heavy stuff.

According to my smartwatch, my daily steps are somewhere between 2000-4000 in a day. Much less at the weekend, and also I mostly wear different shoes.
The sole part, yes, you're correct, they're stiff.
The thing is, I think it's something we couldn't fix, because of the rip, they're like big holes, right in the middle part (please refer to my following pics) unless you want to patch them ; LOL
Well, I guess we get the quality that we pay... design-wise, they're alright. the downside; they're not durable.

Wow! That's ... kind of terrible. I thought the issue was delamination from the point of contact of the sole which I'm used to repairing on shoes, even my 4 year old Merrell's i've brought back to life that way... but that cracking is as if the toe scuff guards are made of a plastic mix that's way too brittle for that flex point and would be a much messier repair (you can use some black silicon RTV but it would look ugly and ruin an otherwise decent looking shoe). Highly disappointing. People love to say "you get what you pay for", and yeah 16 bucks is cheap, but I buy shoes on sale at Costco for nearly that cost and they've been great! And slickdeals is always having deals on shoes that go for 1/3 or 1/4 their retail price, such as this deal recently:

https://slickdeals.net/f/17324391-adidas-men-s-terrex-swift-r3-gore-tex-hiking-shoes-focus-olive-core-black-43-20-free-shipping

I may just end up return these since you can return online purchases in-store. I'm not sure. 🤷

Arrived today and great for this price. The regular price on these have increased quite a bit the last couple years. Grabbed 2 pairs for $34. Paid $34 for a pair last month. Going to return those as have yet to wear

Yes. That's it.
if you don't mind burning your $16; try them out.

But if you plan to return them, do it as soon as possible.
