ETA:
$64.99 has been the going price on Amazon from Dec-Feb. I bought in Jan and then again in Feb for family members. Looks like Amazon has increased the price since the yearly deadline is coming up. Maybe a better strategy for next year.

I have a $25 off $150 code that I can share with anyone who is interested.
I have premier license to trade. Please pm me.
I imported the previous year and created the current year file a few weeks back. Now, when I'm ready to start inputting data, there's not the usual list of available returns (I have two to do) until I login to my Intuit account first. Actually I had to manually point to the tax file (File, Open), there was no list of returns in TT itself. Is that the new process flow. What if I want to work on it offline or lose/forget my PW, etc? Doesn't make sense to me. Am I'm missing something, I think I must be? Very rattled.

After you activate your license, you don't need to use the intuit account any more and no tax information is stored online for the cd/download version.

I activated back in Jan when I was doing the initial install, imported previous year and stopped after I verifed the personal information for each return (2). Where I'm getting thrown off is the list of returns doesn't show within TT today. I have to manually point to them. I skip the initial registration screen (address, etc) like I always do every year, then I get the screen offering to use the Online version or Begin. Begin takes me to creating a new return but I'm expected to see the two returns I created after the previous importing. So this is where I'm seeing something unexpected. I can go and do the manual File, Open but as I said, it's not normal. I guess I'm able to proceed, but it's different so I'm just a bit alarmed.
I'm guessing TT's not remembering the path to my returns. I can't remember if I accepted the default in the past and then moved them after completion or not. That may be the hiccup since I moved them at the start this year? Seems like it should retain it once I selected it though.
*Okay, problem/mystery solved: Apparently, just importing previous year's data, which is as far as I went after I installed TT, isn't enough for TT to acknowledge as a new return. Now that I've entered and saved with actual 2023 data the expected return is now showing within TT. Pearl clutching...disengaged.
