For the uninformed. I work in IT in healthcare. The test are not going to stop you from getting COVID, they will let you know you have COVID. What you choose to do with this information is up to you and, let's face it, your employer. For us it means working from home for at least the day (for a non-positive result) or working from home for at least the week (for a positive result). We care about our coworkers and have the ability to protect them from getting sick. Which in turn protects them from spreading it to their families and patients.
We are lucky enough to have an employeer that cares about spreading disease and are lucky enough to have the ability to work from home. One of my coworkers is currently working from home because he is sick and I appreciate him for it.

I've been on SD for ages and I never get why people feel the need to argue about stuff like this. If you don't want the test, think it's stupid, whatever, don't sign up for it then. If you want it, great, get it.

tl;dr - chill out with the fighting

If you have a certain Kaiser plan, they give you home test for free. Its 4 boxes of 2pk max a month per person.

Ok, back to this deal.
It says this offer is only valid if order has not been placed for my address since 09/25/2023.

I did order when it opened and I did get 4x test. Does this mean I can get 4x more or I won't be able to order AT ALL?

Just wondering. (of course I can try it but was wondering if anyone already tried)

My son is a school teacher so he comes home with TONS of virus and other things so want to stock up to test.

Serious question:

If tested positive, can you just sit it out at home without treatment just like any other flu?

Is there any residual from Covid that requires treatment even if you feel good already?

If you're generally healthy and don't develop severe symptoms, you certainly can (CDC has even revised its guidance with respect to when you can go out in public again as the disease has "milded out"). You can speed the recovery process up by taking Paxlovid if you're concerned you might develop more severe symptoms, but have to be mindful of the potential side effects. It's a pretty heavy anti-viral drug, after all. Long Covid is the "residual" you're describing, but there's not really a proven way to prevent it. And you can get it even after a mild illness.

I hope you're not being sarcastic.

Covid and Flu tests, which are both easily produced and used, should be subsidized so people actually use them.

Slowing down the spread of illness is good for everyone. It's not political. The test is done at home. If you want to ignore it, you can. If you want to be a good member of society or not kill grandma, you'll know when you're not contagious anymore.

Thanks, more useless tests for the wife to use every time she has a sniffle. I say useless as when I had Covid and spent a night from hell on the bathroom floor, it took four days until these stupid things displayed the obvious.

And where did they say this? Please post this information with a link backing up your statement.
They didn't say that. They modified the guidance for COVID to align with other respiratory infections. Anywhere you look on the CDC website is still going to say that COVID is more dangerous than "the flu" for many people.
