WHPEBAY25OFF coupon code still works bringing price down to $190.
They list the band width at 18mm. Mine just showed up and I measure the band at 20mm.
Mine arrived with tags and plastic still on it.

Sapphire, 40.5mm, 200m WR, quartz, factory refurb.
I've been a fan of this watch for a while but it's outside of my price point for watches so when I saw this deal, I had to pick one up.

Bulova Men's Quartz Chronograph A Surfboard Blue Silicone Band 40mm Watch 98A253

A style inspired by history, the Chronograph A is a nod to the popular styles from Bulova's diver chronographs from the 1970s. This style was popularly known as the "Surfboard" for the distinctive blue oval "surfboard" encircling the two sub dials. This updated version features a stainless steel case with blue and red accents and a blue dial. The dial features the notable oval in white around the sub dials, as well as red tipped hour and minute hands, luminous hands and markers, and a red chronograph second hand. Five-hand chronograph quartz movement, domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Blue perforated silicone strap with deployant closure. Water resistance to 200 meters.

This is pretty neat looking. I wonder if it has a similar movement to the lunar pilot. The sweep on that thing is buttery smooth.

Unfortunately the Surfboard does not have the 262 KHz Miyota NP20 movement found in the lunar chronograph which can run as well as +/- 1 second per month or better.

It has a Miyota 6S21 quartz movement with stated accuracy of +/- 20 seconds per month.

It makes sense. The lunar pilot is a bit of a claim to fame for them, so it would stand to reason that they might gatekeep its pretty sweet movement a little bit.

In this particular case, there's an automatic Surfboard way, way upscale (in price) at $2,950 compared to both of these quartz models. I think the draw to the automatic is far less if the quartz had the NP20, even if the quartz Surfboard was more expensive $995 or whatever the pricier lunar chrono costs.

The auto Surfboard uses a Sellita SW510, which is not a great movement for a $2,950 watch. I'd rather see it have a Miyota 9xxx movement and a price of $1,500. This would also emphasize the price point of $595 for the 6S21 Surfboard.

Regardless, at the price posted by OP, this is a great deal. I've bought watches from the seller and I'm convinced they are new clearance watches, as they've all been perfect. I've read others agree. Some have even argued it's Citizen selling the watches since all of the brands are Citizen family.

I have this watch….great styling, wish it was an auto but likely wouldn't like the price.

Here's a refurb for $190.…..I've bought from them before, no issues.

Yeah for a $2950 watch they should really have an in house Bulova branded Japanese movement, with videos of the watchmaker or something

Just to support your comment about possibly being clearance items, mine showed up with tags and the plastic still on it.
