Correct, if you look at the illustration on the Costco listing, you will see that the motor is in the trimmer head. The attachment capable model has the motor on the other end (powerhead).

I have the current model and 4 attachments (string trimmer head, steel blade edger, hedge trimmer, and roto-tiller).

I'm sold on the concept of a powerhead and attachments/tools.

Just want to add that Greenworks warranty is great. Had the 60v attachment capable trimmer. Used it a couple years and bought the edger attachment. Was having issues with it and contacted Greenworks.

They asked me to explain what was happening and send a quick vid.Was informed the next day they were sending me out a new motor portion of the trimmer. A little later was informed they were sending me out a complete kit with 4.0ah battery and charger.

I noted that my original purchase was just the trimmer but they said it's fine and enjoy.

Now I appreciate the extras but I would have been happy just with the replacement. Great to purchase from a company that stands behind their products.

Anybody done a DIY "guide shoe" to hug the cement you're edging against?

I have an attachment for my string trimmer that has what amounts to a washer bent 90* that rides against the side driveway/sidewalk to keep you on line without ramming your blade into the cement.

I just picked up the Kobalt 80v edger (exact clone of this GW) a few weeks ago and it has no such guide. I'm throwing up sparks left and right and eating through the blade.

Otherwise, I like it. But if these blades are any more than a couple bucks a piece I'm going to go broke! I feel like I'll get 3-5 edging sessions in before it's worn down from constantly grinding against cement.
