Seems like a good deal. I always wonder why they always advertise these things by tv size vs by weight. The latter seems like the more important spec as long as the vesa pattern matches. This thing can hold up to 110lbs. I don't know of any modern 85" TV that weighs more than that, but a lot of folks would inherently skip over this mount based on how they advertise it as up to 82".

Anyhow, solid deal. Thanks for posting.

Bought this in October. Installation was pretty straightforward. My studs were 18" apart so I had to add support wood to the wall. I'm using it with a 40" Samsung that is super light. Really pleased with this. Not the slickest deal as I got it for $24.

Fits 12-16" stud placements. May have to buy extenders separately. Ran into this issue helping a friend replace his old mount when the holes didn't align
I bought an "ONN" from Walmart awhile back because it supported wider stud placements. Even with 16" studs it can be nice to have the extra width on the bracket so you can better place the TV exactly where you want. I was able to scoot it over a bit to one side and get the TV nicely mounted. It also adds some stability to the mount by increasing the surface area.

For new builds where you may be mounting this in a spot that has horizontal studs or some plywood placed behind to make for easy mounting it is not as important, but for the rest of us retrofitting existing builds, it makes a difference.

My rule is to at least catch a stud on one side and then use toggle bolts for the other holes if you cant find one on the other side.
These are an easy to install good option - https://www.homedepot.com/p/FLIPT.../206347667
They hold 106lbs each

When a TV reaches a certain size it can't be turned left or right if it is too wide. We have that problem with ours, pulled out from the wall we can barely turn it far enough to the right to see. What we really need is a really long arm one and /or a true corner mount.

I would highly recommend against this, especially for large tvs. I would never trust drywall to hold 100+ lbs of anything, even moreso with a mount that extends outward. If you want more flexibility in left/right adjustment just get a wider mount hitting 2 studs but offset in the direction you want your TV to be.

Good point. I've always used flush mounts and didn't consider this.
