Note: While this will now be the standard T-Mobile Connect plan at this price tier, due to overwhelmingly positive feedback and high interest from the community in the new upgrade from 3.5GB to 5GB of data monthly (previously announced as a jump to only 4GB), we have promoted this offer to the Frontpage for light data/mostly-WiFi users to consider.

T-Mobile offers their T-Mobile Connect Prepaid Wireless Service Plan w/ Unlimited Talk & Text + 5GB Data for $15/month (plus taxes & fees). Purchase of a SIM Card Starter Kit for $10 (one-time cost) may also be required.

Thanks to community member picframe for finding this deal.

Plan Features:
  • Unlimited domestic talk & text
  • 5GB of data per month (domestic)
  • 100MB domestic roaming data
  • No credit check required
  • No contract.
  • Bring an existing number from another service provider if desired, or get a new number at sign-up.
  • Connect is prepaid service which requires you to pay ahead of time monthly to continue service. You may discontinue at any time.

$30/month 100minutes 5GB is terrible.
"without talking to CSR"

Golden comment the idiot MBAs working at all these corporate headquarters haven't figured out the importance yet.
It's a hard cap. But you can easily top it up, if needed. For example, top up by $5 gives you an additional 2GB.
I have been on T-Mobile connect for the last 1 year and it has been great for me.

Connect by T-Mobile has prepaid plans for $10, $15, $25, and $35 a month.

There is a reason why Connect by T-Mobile is able to offer cellular plans at a fraction of the cost. Every option, whether $10, $15, $25, or $35, Connect is a prepaid plan and requires users to bring their own phone, as T-Mobile will not provide one with the service.

Thanks! Smilie

I actually did lots research after posting this thread and found:
T-mobile Connect indeed on QCI level 6 ( same as Magenta )
Metro, Mint, USmobile are on QCI level 7
Tmobile HOME-internet is on bottom at QCI Levl 9

Analogy I was given as if I line up to buy a cup of coffee with "Lower priority", anyone with "higher priority" can just cut in front of me at any given time. LOL
Thanks. I didn't know about QCI. I did a little research and here's an interesting link for those who are interested. It appears that a lower QCI is better. A small clarification regarding T-Mobile home internet: it's downgraded to QCI 9 only after using 1.2TB

US Mobile is a better deal for me. Taxes and fees are included. I am OK with a higher QCI.

The $15 US Mobile plan I see is only $15 if you prepay a YEAR, $180.

Glad we all respect each other's choice, hence, all these companies or services still exist.

Google T-Mobile Connect. That worked for me to find the page, though I'm already on the $15 plan.

Is it ok to sim swap from time to time to another phone? I use an older iPhone on the water when kayaking and don't want to use my newer phone. It's a wet sport and these phones don't swim. Ha.

Yes. Whenever you want. At least with T-Mobile. Some other providers make the process more difficult.

I'm moving overseas soon (Spain) and looking for a cheap plan to keep my US number active. Currently on an old T Mobile Simple Choice plan. Will WiFi calling work with this when I'm abroad?

Wifi calling is working fine in india for someone I know, so it is safe to assume it will work fine in Spain
