Wirecutter Likes it:

They said it is heavier than the Dyson, but 1/2 the price and sucks just as hard. and uses Ryobi 18V batteries which is convenient if you are on that system.

Overall seems relatively positive reviews.

I'm in for one.

The capability to use a single battery type is very tempting since I already have Ryobi 18V tools... But I need convincing this can compete with the Sharks and Dysons - any folks here own this and can share their thoughts?

You can search the review section for the keyword 'dyson'. The majority liked Ryobi better with a few preferring Dyson. I've never had a Dyson, but have Shark cord vacs. My wife loves this vac, I believe it can compete with sticks from those brands. There are also YouTube vids comparing this to Dyson.

I wouldn't pay this price for this vacuum. I got it on the free tool battery deal back in the fall. Cost $89 I think that way. It works great for a cordless vacuum. Actually sucks up dog hair quite well. Makes the Dyson garbage my wife had to have truly look useless. The pproblem is the canister is very fragile. It fell over once and completely busted the latch mechanism. As long as it is clipped into the vacuum it still works, but once I unclip it to empty the canister it falls apart. Ryobi was no help in getting a replacement. If you are super careful with it, it's a great vacuum, but don't pay more than $100 for it on one of the sales. It will sweep 2300 sq ft of hard wood on a single 9Ah battery without going completely dead. 6Ah wouldn't quite make it through.

I own this, purchased refurbished from Tools Direct. I've had a Dyson in the past and I would say this compared very favorably. It looks more like a power tool than a dyson, but it works really well and we really enjoy it.

The one word of warning I would offer anyone is that the battery runs out fast. I use it every day in my eat in kitchen and living room, and I have to charge it 1-2 times a week. If you don't have a spare battery to swap every time it runs out, you're going to be charging it constantly

I just bought one of these to replace our old Dyson V6. We have two dogs and both shed quite a lot, the dual power head does an awesome job cleaning up. If you have dogs I would highly recommend this.

I have an older version of this, and when it worked.......it worked beautifully. The older single head version had the chance to break and the roller would work when it wanted. There was an issue that I read about where the roller would break out of housing for it.

If the new version worked as intended, it would be worth it.

There's no way you got this exact deal for $89! There's an entry-level model that you've probably purchased; it has one-third of this model's suction power.

You got the single roller version. This is dual roller.

Ryobi is owned by tti, who owns a vacuum company. Can't remember which one. But this thing is pretty legit. I paid 99 for the vacuum only and use it in my apartment

I think I bought mine at the same time. I also have a Dyson that constantly ran out of battery power. I have several Ryobi batteries and I can vacuum all day if I want. I'm very happy with it.
