Fans with the remotes are just horrible. Once you lose the remote or it breaks, you have to replace the whole fan. And you lose remotes all the time. Terrible idea. Not sure why this is even a thing. Older fans last us 10+ years. These don't even last 2 years

They are useful in certain situations. The people that built my house ran electrical to the ceiling but NO switch. These are helpful in this situation. (I'm not the original owner)
