Much better than a Kindle Fire or ONN tablet. Good Tablet.
In pretty much every way? I'm getting sick of my fire tablets. The obnoxious OS, the lack of support for apps, and even with the fire toolbox thing I still have issues with my more recent tablet.
True, it's more pure Android which is good. But the performance of this thing is pretty much on the same level as the fire tablets. I have both, and I'm still within the return window for the A9, but I'm deciding to return the A9.

I guess you have to spend closer to $300 to get decent performance. The screen touch response didn't feel very good, and it's overall kinda of sluggish. Maybe just a bit better than the Fire tablets, but just too close to make them worth while.

That true, but the Onn it Widevine Level 3, unless Walmart spend money validation to L1.
This was 7 months ago, not sure about now.

So, Samsung still better for media content using app.
Agree, my kiddo playing games, doing school stuff, clicking around kids videos, the Onn fits a better bill.

I can think of some really quickly. 1) Cheap expandable memory with SD card support. 2) People already invested in the Android ecosystem can use their paid apps on their tablet too. 3) *shocking* some people have different tastes and don't like iOS. 4) easy drag and drop file system storage from PC to tablet
Exactly. And not to mention apps like Stremio that you can't get on a closed ecosystem. For kids, Google family link protection is far better as well for limiting access.

iPad exists for 250$. There's not much reason other than price to go with android tablets.

iPad is one area where there is little to no competition
In general yes. But that 64GB storage on the $250 iPad is a head scratcher. I don't put much on my iPhone and its sitting at 72/128GB. Granted a lot of that is books and music that I keep downloaded for when I don't have a cell signal. Getting rid of that would put it around 60GB. But with 64GB I'd still have to delete a lot of apps if I want to install any large games. The A9+ has an SD slot which can add another 128GB. Apple wants $380 for a 256GB 9th Gen.

These iPads are 4:3 screen ratio. I don't know why anybody would want an iPad to watch 16:9 videos on.

I'd recommend the tab S6 Lite over this, especially if you want a pen. I came from fire devices and my God those were a pain. The S6 lite is a dream. You can also add a huge SD card to it, so just get the 64gb version to save some money.
Why would you suggest the S6 Lite over it? Screen quality difference is debatable. It's a WUXG+ over just a WUXGA, and a better resolution, but it's a difference of only 80 on one side, .6" smaller screen, and 60 Hz instead of 90 Hz. Benchmarks put the processor on the A9+ above S6 Lite. It weighs more, has the same 4 GB of RAM, but if you get the 128 GB version of A9+ it goes up to 8 GB. They also both support a 1 TB microSD card.

Like it might be worth it if you want the S Pen, but without doing a lot of research to find a lower price it's $50 more on Amazon, and doesn't include the case, which just seems like a bad value proposition.

The S6 lite was 180 on Amazon last I checked. Or 220 for the 128gb. It's also been cheaper before. The CPU is about the same on both. I chose the S6 lite primarily for the pen. I guess it boils down to if you want the pen or not. Otherwise they are very comparable experiences. The extra ram would be nice but the 128gb version isn't available at Costco according to the post and that's the one that has 8gb

Tough competition here with the Onn 11 Pro for 120. The big draw compared to the Onn is the 90hz display. If its for a kiddo or someone who just wants to browse, the Onn is fantastic. If you're going to stream video apps, use minimal other apps, the Samsung is great.
People really buy a tablet by a Walmart brand…

OK... this deal SUCKS!!!

Why... because of the specs and price. And there are two other tablets to consider....

1. iplay 50 mini pro NFE @ 8.4" (can come in 256GB version)
2. Lincplus T3 @ 10.36"

Both tablets are DIRT CHEAP at Amazon and rock...
8GB / 128GB / G99 / Zero Bloat Android 13

The G99 CPU is the lowest speed CPU which gives the user a good experience (speedy enough to make you happy) and with 8GB of RAM... the tablets are super smooth. Screens are nice but may not be as nice as Samsung's.

They're all the sum of their parts. The benchmarks outperform the samsung. People buy Amazon tablets all the time, those use the same Mediatek Helio G99 GPU as the Fire Max tablet and an older CPU A76 vs A78.

I've used their Onn Streaming box without issue, its fast, bloatware free, and can run off of USB power.

What's wrong with the Onn brand? I haven't had an issue or heard anyone with first hand issues.

It's a fair tablet. I wouldn't say good.
Minimum storage should be 128GB at this point.

I had the Kindle Fire upgraded unlocked, and it royally sucked. This tablet is GOOD compared to them. Compared to my current S9 Ultra and S9 Plus that I use for home and travel, then I would agree this is a Fair tablet. Comparing it to tablets at the same price point it is a GOOD tablet.

Any official statement from Samsung for how long they will support this tablet? I went to an iPad because I got tired of Samsung not supporting their tablets for more than 3 years. (Even the Galaxy Tab Sx.)
https://www.samsungknox.com/en/kn...ed-devices

Guaranteed support through Android 16 (ships with 13 in the box, 14 update is imminent)

The S6 Lite is a laggy mess that can't keep more than 3 apps open at a time without SIGNIFICANT slowdowns. And yes, and I'm talking about the 2022 version with the SD processor. I've been looking for any opportunity to get rid of mine.
