I don't have this particular one, but ones that look pretty much exactly like them in black that I got on Amazon. I'd say they're not going to last you more than 1-3 months with regular usages. The lid will typically break first at the corners. The container themselves usually last slightly longer before the corners/lips breaks.

If you're using it to store mostly cold food and just rinse them off afterward, they can last quite a while. I think it's the constant heating and cooling with regular washing that wears them out fast.
just get glass containers. theyre more expensive but they last way longer and you dont have to worry about plastic leeching into your food when you microwave it
Those of us who cook our own meals.
Takeout is entirely too expensive. $15-20 for one meal buys me 5-8 pounds of on-sale meat that turns into 5-8 meals.

lol? I put the link as an example for you specifically because you don't know what a snapping lid is.
I know Smilie

Just not sure why the original person expected snapping lids on something selling for so cheap?

Good idea to buy the protection plan for $2? Use it for 3 months or so and then claim the $ back since they are going to break??

More plastic for the landfills.

Seriously, there are times to buy cheap stuff and times not too. This is one of those times. Buy some quality food containers.

Agreed. This is only useful to send leftover food with guests after hosting a party. And even then, there is probably more environment friendly options available.

For meal prep and storage there are glass containers available on sale all the time at costco for example. Yes, more expensive but will last years.

BPA-free just means they use different chemicals that they haven't proven yet to cause harm.

That $2 would actually put me over the $35 free shipping requirement (missed it by $0.35 without) but I noticed this in the protection plan details:

Plan covers:
Wood, Fabric, Glass, and Metal

As these are plastic they may deny the claim which would be fraud since they offered it.
