Now that Craftsman new 20V batteries are not compatible with Craftsman older 20V tools, I am avoiding anything Craftsman at this point. Older Craftsman 20V tools are compatible with Black + Decker 20V Max battery lineup and thankfully that is a good avenue with 3rd party batteries being very reasonably priced.

Seems they redesigned the battery just slightly to make it incompatible on purpose.

Loved their previous 20V line-up with Matrix / Bolt-On tools and compatibility with Black + Decker. Got a bunch of those tools and glad we have 3rd party batteries still being made.

Avoiding anything new Craftsman!

A 3rd party 20V battery is cheaper than their 20V battery adapter from old to new design.

Yes there is.. picked one up on amazon 2 weeks ago. it works, however you will need a 20v charger.. it will power the tools but won't charge on the old charger even with the adapter
