For the hulkbuster mark 44 MOC you don't need anything else.
For this iron man mark 43 XXL MOC, you need three other sets. But it is a separate build than the hulkbuster.

The confusion is because you can buy a bundle for both MOC with 20% off. It's from the same MOC designer but you can build each one separately.
Do I buy the deal on target, then pay for the blueprint moc, and then order the additional pieces needed for the moc?

I regularly do MOC of technic and rebuilding sets. Yes, it is a lot of work. You have to enjoy the process of rebuilding Lego. Tips: I use tackle fishing boxes and sort the pieces by colors first. Then you can sub-sort them further if you wish. For technic you can sort those pins, gears, connectors etc. Do it a couple of times and you will get a hang of it how to sort efficiently. MOC is for people who like the (re)building process, if you just want to build something for display, this MOC might be a big first project.
