Dont buy one that doesn't have lidar.

See if the walmart deal is still available.
Bought this exact thing on clearance a year or two ago for around $60. For a cheap non lidar vac it's more than sufficient. But this has been recycled many times through the sd forums

Yeah, that's silly, but use it as a part of some botnet somewhere? Or use it to attack your local net? Sure. Especially if it runs a server with a default login and password. Like cameras, routers, etc. Those things have happened.
Right, and it's fearmongering to imply that the rare occurrence is a forgone conclusion. especially silly things like "they could control your vacuum to trip you on the stairs"

If it has a camera, I'd be more concerned about the thing spying on you. Or attacking your PC and stealing your banking information.

Not sure about "rare".

See that's the thing. How would you propose a small embedded system like that attack your PC and steal banking information? Do you happen to have windows firewall turned off? shared folders turned on, override the mandatory shared folder passwords so anyone can enter it, and then put a text file in that shared folder with your bank logins and passwords? That's the way it would have to happen.

You literally need to leave your front door open with all the money on the table and a sign in front of your house saying "free money inside".

Yes hacks happen, and yes internet connected embedded systems can have vulnerabilities but the pathways to steal stuff are much longer and harder than lay people realize.

For instance, a phishing attack to your email to get your credit card number or SSN is much more viable and likely than a vulnerability in a vacuum allowing someone to login to your desktop computer or phone and steal banking info.

Look, I'm not saying it isn't possible and I'm not saying you have nothing to worry about. I certainly wouldn't leave my home computers without firewalls and unprotected file shares to sensitive personal information.

Buy a brand that hasn't gotten into a bunch of trouble for being entirely negligent with customer data.

Same. @ragar01 didn't charge either...
Will Eufy send a replacement battery or is returning to WM easier?

I remember the slick deal for the s5 back when it was only overseas and it only spoke Chinese. Had to activate it using a YouTube video. . Still works like a champ.

Same. Mine also going solid red when put on charge after few seconds of orange charge light. And dust collector release button just came off first time when i pressed to release. While repackaging i noticed a small screw piece with plastic broken inside the package cover which is tied to dust collector release button it seems. Returning to Walmart. So weird is many reported same charging issue here.
