It's good practice to keep limit low. It won't help your credit score because of the percentage of utilization area but it will help with keeping you out of trouble since you can only carry a low balance
I have an 830 credit score with some cards having a $20K credit limit, no issue with paying bills here.The issue is that with such a low limit, it's difficult to take advantage of specific purchase type perks because they can cost more than such a low limit.
