    But given the overall dimensions, you'd have to fill each drawer with lead weights (or gold) to test that 40lbs. maximum capacity!

    these are stackable. 40 pound capacity is not for individual bins, its' for all the cases that you intend to stack

    that's because it's not. i paid about $10 each for these and i really like them for storing small components like capacitors, inductors, MOSFETs, etc. makes things easier to find. $14-$15 is the normal price. i've seen these as low as $7
