$80/m * 36 = $2,880 total cost (not including taxes and fees) for phone and service.

I don't see how this could be worth it over buying the phone outright ($800) and taking it to a cheaper carrier/plan.

These deals are good for 4+ lines. I have 9 lines with Verizon and paying around $25 per month. Taking benefit of bestbuy and Walmart cheaper phones deals time to time.

Not good for 1 or 2 lines.

Exactly. The math doesn't work. But people keep falling for it…

This deal is basically $850 off if you have their exceedingly expensive plan. It's a bad deal.

If you have an existing regular unlimited plan, you can get $650 off on an upgrade, and then pay over 36 months.
With that in mind, here's the offer that is imho good:

iPhone 15 128GB $5/m+$35 activation = $215
iPhone 15 256GB $7.77/m+$35 activation = $315
iPhone 15 512GB $13.33/m+$35 activation = $515

iPhone 15 Pro 128GB $9.73/m+$35 activation = $385
I don't have numbers for the other Pro models, but I'd guess around $485 for the 256GB Pro, $685 for the 512GB Pro.

iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB $15.28/m+$35 activation = $585
iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB $20.83/m+$35 activation = $785
iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB $26.39/m+$35 activation = $985

Maybe this should be a new thread since it's a slightly different deal.

The worse part of the deal is it's bill credits and no contract. Yes, you can jump ship but you will also have to pay whatever is left on three year payment agreement. If you choose to stay, since there is no contract involved, Verizon can raise their rates. It has already happened to me twice within the three year period. I have certainly learned my lesson with this company, no more financed phones. Very shady practice.

does anyone else have as good of service as verizon?

Also everyone's knocking this deal but if verizon is best for you and you're looking to upgrade a phone this is a good opportunity to do so…

These carriers are crazy if they think we'll pay $60 plus for one line especially for 36 months. What's next, 360 months?

This isn't the same deal, but there are deals to be had IF you do plan to stay w/ Verizon. We have an old iPhone 12 Pro Max. Was able to trade-in and get $1000 credit, keep our existing $27 per month Unlimited Welcome plan (family plan), and basically upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max for $200 ($5.55/month for 36 months).

I will likely get downvoted, but we plan to stick w/ Verizon for the foreseeable future. I was also able to chat w/ them and get the $35 upgrade fee waived. Though I did have to pay tax on the full $1200 MRSP of the phone.

If you don't want to trade-in, $15.27 per month for the same phone, and any unlimited plan qualifies. $550 basically over 3 years. You can sell your current phone to recoup some of the money, $350 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max in my case, which is roughly what I'd get via FB Marketplace anyway.
