The "person detection" does, which is the reason I refuse to upgrade. I am not paying for a service that I don't need. My biggest annoyance with Blink cameras is that things like wasps, flies, and even windy days will spam trigger the cameras. Otherwise, you can just use a local USB plugged into the main module to record the videos.

These are a DOWNGRADE from xt2. do not buy.
I have xt2, gen3 and this. All are getting pregressively value engineered.
Gen3 and 4 motion detection is absolute garbage compared to xt2. Which makes sense, because they switched the sensor after xt2.
I am guessing the xt2 sensor was just too expensive.
Gen3 has a PIR different sensor, which is awful.
Gen4 has no PIR altogether.
I'd say motion detection on gen3&4 is even worse than wyze, which has no PIR sensor altogether. (cause you know.... why add a $0.25 sensor when you can charge 7$ a month for 'ai' cam plus) .
Battery life is better, and image quality is better than xt2.
But if you're pixel peeping your security camera that triggers every time a moth flys by it... enjoy those 'moth is here' pics in stunning quality.

Are these a worthwhile upgrade from the XT2? I just upgraded to the sync module 2 last week because my old one finally died.
Reiterating my earlier point: Gen 4 is the first blink camera that requires subscription to detect a person as they removed presence sensor and replaced it with subscription.
GTFO.
No. It includes a sync module that you can install a memory card in.
That's a good catch - Woot doesn't make it obvious it's included until you read through the details and what's included. That's a nice extra and makes this an even better deal - OP/Mods should add that to the title or just make it clear in OP that Sync Module is included (you still have to buy your own USB drive, tho).

Thanks for clearly stating this. This is reason enough to not buy or upgrade to this set.

I don't own any version of these. Thinking about picking up one or two to monitor for wildlife coming through my fence. Should I be looking for a used X2, another version or a different camera? I use the Arlo system for house security (4 cameras). Thanks !

I bought some rechargeable lithium batteries and that's been a decent solution for now until I decide to get a solar powered or hard-wired system.
