35 is a nicer bag, but only for larger tools. The molded rubber bottom is the best feature of it and it has more back support. I have both and think it should cost more, however i find the 48 more useful since the smaller pockets work better for my use case.
35 pocket model is the only one with a laptop compartment. It would work really well for you I'd imagine 👍

Do you have dimensions for both? Just really want heigntof interior. I have long screwdrivers
35 pocket will comfortably fit 16" screwdrivers, up to 18". 48 pocket will fit 12" up to 13". For comparison, the amzn branded denali backpack (priced around ~$34 on woot when featured) fits 13" up to 15". These Steelehead tool bags pop up on woot every other month, 35 pocket is usually priced around $56 (price i bought at). 48 is at its usual price i believe; its more of a backpack/toolbag hybrid, wouldn't recommend for lugging around long distances.

I use it I love it as comp tech , fits laptop some spare drives precision set , cat cables . Keyboard with trackpad .
