iOS deal alert push notifications? (i apologize if this is the wrong forum, i'm at my wit's end and think i've checked everywhere to make sure this is the correct one)

so, yeah, i can't find anything via search, but I'm trying to actually get notifications to work for me, other than getting messages in my SD inbox, I can't ever get anything else to work, which makes me miss almost every deal.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. When I set the alerts I select each tab for method of notification, to attempt to err on the side of caution, but it never works. And all my details, ie my email and phone #, etc, are correct.
When I try to make sure notifications are turned on for the iOS app by going to the SD app's settings, there isn't a notifications line to turn off or on, at all...
Therefore I don't know how I'm supposed to set this up. There's nothing in the "notifications" area of the settings menu either.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated. I've been reticent to ask here bc I don't know if it's the correct place to, but as stated in title, I really am at my wit's end.
