Fantastic series, audio book is pretty great as well and is available for free on the Libby app!
This book got me back into reading after a long hiatus. A sci-fi story with a feeling of fantasy/adventure. It's violent, it's beautiful, it's artfully written. Pierce Brown does an amazing job at roping you into the world of Darrow and making you care for each character.

Book 1 is amazing and the series just gets better after that. I've been recommending this one to everyone I talk to and at $2, you can't go wrong.
Hail Libertas!

I agree with those who enjoyed this series. If you have not read it yet, I would recommend reading 1-3 and waiting until 7 comes out before reading 4-7. I started before Lightbringer (6) came out and Pierce Brown is king of cliffhangers and it's rough waiting from one book to the next.

Book 5 is especially dark (it's called Dark Ages so I guess I should have known) and leaves you literally hanging and pretty depressed about the outlook of the series honestly. I wish I had known to wait myself. I had read 1-3 quickly and gotten 4-5 from the library and didn't realize it would be over 2 years before 6 would come out to bring a modicum of closure.

Originally 6 was supposed to finish his second trilogy but he said he extended it another book (which is okay since he had a lot going on in 6). I am not going to lie though, the end of 6 made me cry more than any other part of all six books (Brown is not known to spare the favorite or main characters from potential anguish or death).

Definitely a fantastic series I would recommend but make sure you have all of them before you start reading if you don't like cliffhangers!
