Stack with buy a $30GC first and get a free panda bowl
Looks like you save $5 with coupon code. Not a huge amount for such a big meal but something.
Previous deal comments here: https://slickdeals.net/f/17430180-panda-express-30-family-meal-2-large-sides-and-3-large-entrees-4-15-24-to-4-21-24?src=SiteSearchV2Algo

TLDR: The price on the family meal keeps going up, many locations recently downsized their to-go containers, making two larger plates a better deal, however some locations have also downsized the to-go plates as well.

Can you use the coupon code and free bowl coupon on the same order? I guess maybe you can place two separate orders?

I just ordered for lunch today with a free panda bowl coupon and then I get an email about this deal...

Time to get off slickdeals and have leftover Panda for dinner...
Separate orders needed. Only one coupon code per order.

only can use one coupon code, how to combine with gift card?
Coupon code is not a gift card.

You put the coupon code on the order page, and then put in gift card on the check out page.

Yeah, I used to get 2 meals from a two item box now I scarf the whole thing in one sitting and feel bad about my life choices. Not only did they downsize the box, they don't fill it either. People love to talk shit about chipotle skimping on scoops, but the panda by me is so stingy I just gave up on it.

Correct. Location by my house downsized to nearly half of its original size. I stopped going to panda.
My wife and I used to easily split a 2 entree plate (with the free 3rd item from the receipt), IIRC it was about $5 or so. It was a good value then, the boxes were big and portions generous. Back then, they'd put it on a plate if you were eating in, but we'd always ask for the box, because more fit in it and you could take it home easily. Those days are long gone, apparently.

We've nearly given up on Panda too, we might go once a year even though it's a rip-off, I have to admit we do like the taste of the Orange Chicken, Beijing Beef, and Teriyaki Chicken. There's probably 5 or 6 Panda restaurants near us, and they all do the same - scoop up a huge spoon of OC and then "shake it off", which irritates me. Just fill the box, it's not like this stuff it cheap or free!

The only cheap place to eat these days is Costco ($1.50 hot dog & drink) or Sam's Club ($1.38 hot dog and drink), or a slice of pizza at either (why, oh why, did they get rid of supreme pizza at both?). Other than that, we've pretty much stopped eating out these days. YMMV, of course, but that's how we feel about it.

I used to have food from Panda Express all the time until I realized how much sodium is in each serving. Yikes. Your heart will thank you to avoid this place.

Have they made the boxes smaller like they did the meals?

If you've got a Mr. You's nearby (I know, weird name) you're better off going there. They have better food at better prices. I took advantage of the last family meal deal and regretted it. Especially their noodles (the ones they give you along with rice) are awful.

I swear they're only doing this "deal" to see how accepting customers will be of their absurdly high prices, while calling it a "sale." Just like any corporation, they aren't raising their prices based on the price of their inputs. They're raising their prices to the highest price the market will bear and this is one of their ways of probing the market to find that number. I have zero interest in playing along.

PS: 99 Ranch Chinese for is better, cheaper, and has much larger portions. If you buy any groceries there they give you a $2 coupon for every $25 you spend, good at the Chinese food counter. We go and buy our pig organ meat at the grocery store (We use it as ingredients for making our own raw dog food: pig livers, hearts, kidneys). That generally comes out to about $125. I bring the coupons over for Chinese food and I end up spending about $6 out-of-pocket (plus the $10 in coupons) for enough food for two meals for two people.

Well, you tried to game them and now you are complaining that you can't anymore. You felt it was ok to get more food than you paid for by asking for it in boxes. If Costco is all you can afford then I agree you shouldn't eat out. I hope you realize the only way that Costco can do the $5 hotdog is buy taking a loss on it because they see it as a way to get you in the door and to pay for your annual membership. And so, yes, the more raw and whole the food is, the cheaper it is but you have to put your labor into preparing it. If you have the time for it, or like it better than what you eat out, then it is the way to go.

Mine tried to grab $35 for this last time and it isn't in a mall or theme park like the terms and conditions say. It's also a location where the manager is at home 24x7 and lives nearby. Only comes in if an employee calls them. So they could go with $30 and fire the apparently unnecessary manager.

That wasn't a deal, so it was a no.

Clearly their new rewards system isn't working out for them, so they're going back to coupons.

Also its pretty clear that individual stores refusing promos and jacking up prices on them doesn't work. See Subway.

Asking for it in a to-go box is "gaming" them? Do you really think they'd ever give you "more than you paid for"? laugh out loud LOL! They don't care either way, on a plate or in a box. It makes no difference in price (and really shouldn't make any difference in quantity, but it might on occasion depending on who is serving you). The biggest reason to ask for it in a box is convenience, easier to take home if it's already in a box. Andrew Cherng owns Panda - lock, stock and barrel, and is a multi-billionaire. It's not a public company or franchise, so all profits go directly to him. Somehow I don't think he's going to go broke if I miraculously got an extra piece of Orange Chicken. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Cherng

As for Costco, the hot dog is not and has never been $5.00, it's $1.50 including drink and has been for at least 30 years now, if not longer. I guess you would know that if you were a member. They "take a loss on it to get you in the door"? Not really, up until recently, you didn't even need to have a membership to eat at the Costco food court. It has nothing to do with what I can afford, it has to do with value, and the lack of it in the case of places like Panda. Obviously, many here agree with me on this, read the previous thread on this "deal".

It is kind of crazy how in just the last decade Slickdeals has went from warning or kicking out constant thread crappers to it being almost 2/3 of every thread you read. I guess them affiliate links bringing in the dough, they don't really care anymore. (Watch this comment get squashed Wink )
