Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

Very sneaky Google. Forcing the clock to expire on the return window. If they give you $75 instead of $399 on your iPad 6, ur pretty much f'd
they should allow a grace period for return until your trade in value is fully assessed
