Pretty sure it's aluminum. A water can couldn't hold in the beans, unless it was frozen solid.

lots of recent reviews = 1 review in 2024, and 2 reviews in 2023. this product doesn't have a ton of reviews, so it's possible that you might get watery beans but let's not exaggerate

Nah. I tried this. It stains any pot you use and takes a long time to cook thru. Not worth the small savings and mess

The texture of freshly cooked (from dry) beans is definitely better in my opinion. Pretty darn easy if you have an instant pot. I still eat mostly canned beans, but every time I make them from scratch, I wonder why that is.
And yeah...dry beans are cheap AF.

What kind of inner pot are you using in your Instant Pot?


I make beans all the time in it, and the stainless steel is impervious to the dastardly staining ways of those menacing beans.


15-30min cooking time depending on which variety of beans you have. I wouldn't call that a long time comparatively.


Also each pouch of 8-16oz dry beans can easily make like 4-8 cups prepared…so I'd say the cost-savings are enormous (especially when dry beans are dirt-cheap).


But, it is nice to have cans on-hand for quick meals.

I've been doing this for years. Most beans are like 24 mins on high pressure, followed by 15 min slow release. I do black, pinto, garbanzo beans and my pot looks fine and I'm not eating bpa or whatever can liner they use and added salt.
