The Costco Mini 3 for a bit more is a big upgrade. Big camera improvement.

HIGHLY recommend Dji care. Got it and had to use it for a crash and absolutely NO problems getting it replaced with a new one! Got the 2 year. WELL worth it.

Not so fast - they require the carcass of the broken drone for replacement. I stupidly lent it to a friend who promptly flew it into a 90 foot tall tree within 20 seconds. Impossible to get back. Tried flinging my shoe up there to knock it down but all my strength couldn't get it halfway up the tree. I filed a claim and I had to jump through hoops, uploading flight logs, pictures, etc. Then they said, without the broken drone, they can only replace my mini 2 for $200. I said fine cause it was my friend paying. If I had the broken drone, it would have been a $69 replacement.

1 month later, it finally fell out of the tree and someone called my phone number and mailed it back to me. DJI refused to refund me.

They are but I'm hoping ours gets grandfathered. How are we banning these things now? What on earth can China get from these drones that their satellites can't? Ridiculous

No idea. The entire thing sounds crazy to me. I just recently bought an Air 3 bundle and I'm hoping it doesn't become a brick. My risk tolerance is a bit higher so I took a gamble on it but it's worth tracking the story if you're in the market for a drone. I'm hoping if it does happen there will at least be a several year window before anything gets grounded via some firmware update.
