I am sure this makes economic sense to the M&Ms people; they're maximizing their return, and it's all part of inflation / shrinkflation. But I can't be the only one who's walked down the candy aisle at a CVS, etc., been tempted by those several shelves of M&Ms, but then decided against because I didn't have the time or patience to decide between the 58 different variety/size options. And just walked away without buying anything.
Sometimes simplification is the better marketing and sales strategy.
so i pretty much ignore all portion nonsense and focus on that quotient.
my SD rule of thumb with any chocolate sale;
if it's over 20ยข an ounce, i don't even look at it,
because i can always buy chips for less.
