I got tired of using the pump sprayer too so I bought this from Amazon. Unscrew the top and screw this in and no more cramping.

This works great for my yard. I've been using it for the last couple of years. It's not made to ensure new weeds don't come, but it kills current ones with no problem. At least in my experience.

I've stopped buying this stuff after using vinegar, salt, and a little dish soap in my sprayer. The vinegar solution is just as effective at killing weeds and its nice knowing I'm not spraying all these chemicals in my yard. The vinegar solution is effective at killing bermuda grass, nut sage, english ivy, crabgrass, henbit, you name it... Even more effective if you buy the 30% vinegar at HD but more expensive at around $18/gallon. Still, i'll pay the premium over these harmful chemicals.

I didn't read the label, but many herbicides want the daily high temp to be under 84 degF to work. Read the label.

Spectricide sells a selective - weed-only - product too. If you didn't get the pre-emergence down in time, then that is a good option for spot treatment on the weeds that won't harm most grasses. Read the label, of course. 2 weeks ago I used some of this selective weed killer (kills over 250 weeds) and most have died, including dallisgrass and crabgrass. My turf hasn't been impacted even where there was a little over-spray, which is nice. We have warm grasses here, so I know next to nothing about cool/cold grasses.

A few years ago, Bayer made a great selective herbicide that killed nearly all weeds in a lawn, but didn't harm the grass. Don't know what happened, but they changed the formula and it stopped working for me.

I assume you mean glyphosphate, which has gotten press recently for possibly being a carcinogen. No, it is not glyphosphate.
The other stuff is also bad, just go full on with the ppe.

If one is trying to kill everything green in an area as you are describing above (in my case it's my dog run which is just crushed limestone somewhat packed) , A strong concentration of vinegar (more than 5% white vinegar; go get 30% acidity cleaning vinegar) along with a dollop of dish soap for it to adhere to the broad leaves and a lot of SALT in the mixture will work just as well as roundup.

Unfortunately in my limestone area it doesn't prevent new weeds each year but they don't really take root strongly and I can pull them or if they get out of hand I spray again. If this is done a few times on soil it will pretty well deaden that soil for a while.

There's a reason plenty of old texts refer to conquering armies 'salting the earth' ... preventing their enemies from being able to grow food and repopulate.

And still this method isn't using poison.
Thanks, I'll give that vinegar mix a try, I'd like to clear an overgrown path behind my house and that seems ok to use with a gallon sprayer. I have a small bottle of concentrated glyphosate and I only use it with a paintbrush to paint the cut stub of a very robust plant like tree of heaven, paper mulberry, paulownia tomentosa, and pokeweed. Three of them are invasive as heck and pokeweed, while native here, is noxious and will take over everything with huge taproots.
