I received an email from Samsung titled, "(name), save $300 (or more) on OLED S95D TV. Only today!" The S95D is controversial due to the anti matte reflective coating and One Connect Box.

I checked the prices of the S90D because I'm not a fan of the One Connect Box. I'm on my second S95C 65", and I can't use it for PC gaming. Everything else works as intended with my PS5, XSX, and Denon Receiver.

You can try to sign up for an EDU/EPP discount with the following link: https://www.samsung.com/us/shop/o...education/

Here's the following prices with EDU/EPP discounts:

S90D 48" - $1,259.99 (WOLED)

S90D 55" - $1,259.99 (QD OLED)

S90D 65" - $2,249.99 (QD OLED)

S90D 77" - $2,449.99 (QD OLED)

S90D 83" - $4,959.99 (WOLED)

Here's the S95D prices for comparison:
(The S95D QD OLEDs were much cheaper during the pre order, but I can't remember how much the 55" and 65" models were.)

S95D 55" - $2,069.99 (QD OLED)

S95D 65" - $2,969.99 (QD OLED)

S95D 77" - $4,049.99 (QD OLED) - (This variant was cheaper during the pre order window at $3199.99 if you're considering this model.)

You can also receive a $50 trade in credit for recycling an older TV. Apparently the $50 trade in credit isn't eligible for the smaller TV's so 48" and 55".

You should able to get a lower price by using 5% Samsung referral codes and by possibly chatting with a Samsung rep for 10%. Hopefully this helps someone out.

I believe so! I think the panel lottery is limited to different regions. I'd be upset if I bought a QD OLED TV and received a WOLED panel instead. I wish the lottery didn't exist at all. The distinction was clear last year with the S90C series. The 83" is a WOLED panel while the smaller sizes are indeed QD OLED panels.

In europe they got woled in the sizes other than 83" 90( C ) as well, that's why there's some confusion this time around surrounding the 90(D).

Mods, can you combine the two threads? I made a similar thread the other day, but I'm not sure if it got lost in the shuffle.

I'd personally go with the S90D over the S95D because I'm not a fan of the One Connect Box or the Anti Reflective Matte Coating.

Nice! I'm glad you're having a good experience with your S95C. Everything, but my 3090 gaming PC works with my S95C. I bought a bigger S90C so I wouldn't have to deal with the inconsistent blackouts. Hopefully Samsung is able to fix those issues with the newer S95D.

just fyi, The delivery company that brought my S90C last month didnt care at all about taking the trade in TV. They told me they were just going to throw it away anyways.

Love my S95C, but I do miss Dolby Vision and DTDlS, also have the intermittent black screen issue when gaming.
Of all it's flaws,l and after a year, the picture quality amazes me.

I don't understand why anyone spending this kind of money on a high end TV would be okay with not getting Dolby Vision.

I'm often not a fan of DV unless the overly dark scenes can be brightened up in the settings, but doing that affects accuracy. The new G4 apparently does a nice job of adjusting out the darkness without hurting accuracy.

Yeah I don't think DV is like worlds better than HDR or HDR+, but I still like the option of being able to display it if needed, Samsung refusing to license it is just ridiculous on these high end TVs that are not cheap. It's like whatever on their low end TVs its not important but these are at the top of the line they should not be missing any feature, you know?
