Has anyone made a home improvement or added a feature to your home for ~$500 or less that you would recommend?

Would love to see what things others have done/added that they think was worth it for some inspiration. For example, we replaced our reverse osmosis water filter to one that's plugged into an electrical outlet. It was $250-$300 I think, but for a family of four that all have big water bottles to fill up it made a big difference. With the old system you could only fill up one to two 40oz bottles until the pressure in the tank decreased so bad it was practically dripping. Now we get the same pressure whether we fill up one bottle or 10 in a row.
