This is a very old Ryzen 7, already 5 years since released in 2019. Coupled with Gateway, no good.

instead of comparing it to a laptop twice its cost, why don't you provide a better alternative option?

this laptop is for ppl who wants a new laptop at the least possible cost because they won't be doing anything fancy and needs something that's good enough

In case if you are not aware of... take this for $280, much much faster and newer with 300 nits touchscreen. Still a basic new laptop but better build quality/brand/support and future-proof. The only thing you need would just plugging in a 8GB RAM stick.

OK, here we go again. I bought a 14" Gateway in Dec. 2022 via post on SD, from Walmart. In 1/24, problems developed, most especially the screen coming loose from the bezel. In speaking w/ Gateway, I, of course, was told the warranty expired after 12 months, so tough titty. Others here on SD have mentioned numerous problems (inc. screen loose) w/ Gateway. Caveat Emptor. You've been told.
