go with the 5/16" or 3/8" if you can find them.
Make sure you inspect eveything right away.
Manufacturer Customer service is good, but you have a short window to get missing/damaged parts.

There are definitely some exceptions, and some employees at Lowes are fantastic! But most of the time I've found that they are better at getting you to the products...and not the solutions.
Make sure to bring your phone with multiple pictures of your shower. When you're in unfamiliar territory like this, showing is better than telling. Good luck!
