Preproduction model. Don't know if it changed anything. Not the solar charge controller, but the solar panel (not included). At the end he gives it an uplifting "cheerio ".

I've had mine for about eight months. I use it every week. It's never let me down simple to use reliable, and I am pleased to have this. Update!! And the time I've owned it I've never let it go below 20% because that's what they recommend out there in the professional world with these type of units but two days ago running 100 W. It brought it down to zero and then I charged it all night and this morning it was still at one percent so it's been plugged in again for about two hours and it's locked into one percent so somethings wrong with it and I'm kind of pissed. !!"

I was about to pull the trigger on two of these because they're so cheap, but I checked the warranty first, and it *only applies to purchases from Fremo directly*. What? The amazon listing mentions nothing about warranty. Fremo states purchases elsewhere are warranted only by the retailer. So... sketchy. https://www.ifremo.com/warranty/

Not sure where you got your numbers but consumer electronics failure rates are single digit percentages, not 15%

Consumer reports is a good source for failure rates for various products and brands.

regarding the 90% fails soon, the term you are looking for is infant mortality and bathtub reliability curves.
