It was $10 last year. I bought two, and they work great.

This seems pretty comparable to the Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater that's currently on the Front Page for $16

this is 1500 watt, that comes close to a 15 amp circuit. especially if other power draws are on the same circuit (such as in my bedroom, my pc) . i notice a lot of these offer a 900w option i'd be more comfortable with. how do you reduce the wattage on just this turn it down? or does it offer a lower watt setting?

also how do these compare to oil based radiator heaters? i noticed those claim to be rated to 500 sq ft, and this one only says 300 sq ft such that i could find. (Edit, the ebay page says 401-450 sq ft which is a lot closer)

But. I realize this doesnt have a remote. My lasko tower heater does, which puts it over the top probably. Gotta be able to change the temp from bed. i dont like a few things about the lasko. mainly the large size. and also the thermostat is very imprecise. if you set it to 72, iirc it will heat to like 75 by design before shutting off (i guess it wants to create a temp buffer to avoid rapid cycling, but imo it goes too far)

i could put this close enough to the bed to reach, so not needing the remote but that just seems problematic in other ways. such as hot air blowing directly on me. altho, i could just turn it around.
