Can someone tell me if you can make multiple payments a month and retain a credit balance?.
Unfortunately you can only pay for one month of service at a time.

Hopefully they'll have some Sunday ticket deals that I can stack.
They had one last month for $100 off [reddit.com] for existing YouTube TV customers ($249 or 4 payments of 62.25)

I was a youtube tv subscriber when the monthly cost was $35 and moved over to bootleg service that offers all the channels from the world for a fraction of the price. Once I add the service on tivimate and smooth as silk and no buffers for UFC PPVs, NFL, NBA.

The card linked offers are some good savings but don't compare to $12/month.

Interesting. I wouldn't mind if someone DM'd me info about this bootleg service. For research purposes.

What's the appeal of live TV in a streaming world? Back to the original question. Who is this for?

Do you have Cable TV and hate your provider? I was sick of Comcast so switched to YouTube TV. Tired of playing the cancellation game with Comcast to get a better rate every 1-2 years. YouTube TV offers all the channels I need (local live TV and other channels like news networks, Food Network, ESPN, TNT, etc.), and costs less... so it was an easy decision. Sling TV is cheaper (for those looking to save even more money) but didn't have as many channels and live TV coverage in my area wasn't great with Sling TV.

Thanks original poster, repped!! I already have a subscription, added the offer to the card (says can be used 3 times by December). I am hoping the next 3 YouTube TV bills qualify for the $20 credit each time. If not, it was still worth a try.
Ah OK thanks. No need for cable TV, a relic from the 90s.

If someone is interested in live TV without having to use a TV antenna, this is a good option. It's generally less expensive than cable TV. Of course, Cable TV will entice folks with low introductory offers, but then the prices go up after the sweetheart deal ends. If you threaten to cancel you could often reduce the price, but it's an annoyance.

I switched to YouTube TV ("YTTV") because I got tired of that game with my cable company. I also didn't like that Comcast charged almost $40 for "broadcast TV fees" in addition to all the other package charges. Limited options was another reason I switched: Comcast offers in my area only 3 channel service options: a pathetic plan (around 10-channel plan), then ~125 channels, then the huge plan with every single channel. I wanted more than 10 channels but less than 125. I tried to reduce my bill by changing my channel plan but I didn't get the channels I wanted with the 10-channel plan, so I was stuck with the 125-channel plan. Who needs two Hallmark channels and 20+ digital music channels?? I was overpaying for stuff I didn't need. Confusing, complicated billing was another reason to switch.

I also noticed with YTTV it provides a 4-hour live TV buffer (!) for the channel that it's tuned to.. this is way better than cable. Comcast gives you 30 or 60 minute live TV buffer, max. 30 minutes for their cheap tuner boxes & 60 minutes for the DVR (digital video recorder) boxes. YTTV also provides unlimited DVR recordings, though every recording can only be kept 9 months after recording & then is auto-deleted. With Comcast you get a basic hour allotment (20 hr I think) and could upgrade for more hours, but of course it costs you more each month. There are many sites on the internet (cnet.com, PC Magazine, etc.) that provide comparisons to help people decide what is best for them.

Hope that helps answer the question, "Who's this for?" If not, then maybe this is not a deal of interest and simply keep searching for something you like. Smilie

Not showing up on any of my 3 Amex cards. Bummer. I have gotten the offer in the past, so perhaps that is why.

Is it possible to pay YTTV ahead, before the YTTV payment due date?
