I bought SwissGear luggage since merging like 15-20 years ago when Target carried it. It's been exceptional for me. Love the swivel wheels and has held up to years of abuse with a heavy work travel schedule and personal travel. Extendable handles, casters and zippers are all still fully functional, and no rips in the material. But because it's still holding up, I've not had to replace any of our pieces, so I really can't speak to whether there's been a significant quality decline since my purchased.
