Finally hits $5 and it's on Apple. Non-MA really pisses me off.

Critics Consensus

A satisfying, well-acted war thriller with surprising dramatic depths, Guy Ritchie's The Covenant tells a solid story with impressive restraint.

On Prime if ya wanna try before you buy.

Good story on this movie, but Jesus Christ they got so much of the military stuff absolutely wrong. Said to take place in 2018 but they're rolling humvees without doors. Uniforms are all jacked. People marching around on base in Afghanistan. People saluting.

First half of the movie has awful acting. Second half of the movie somehow the acting gets better. JG's wife is awful. JG is awful during the first half of the movie.

It's worth a watch, but I watched it for free on Hulu or prime (one of the two).

I definitely wouldn't pay for it.

Great flick. Good drama. Not a big Jake G fan, but he was solid. Great soundtrack + SFX.

I typically only buy thru Apple since I figure they'll be around long after MA is gone

That's a misnomer in the sense that MA is just the glue between platforms. Most all my movies are on Vudu which doesn't require some stupid accessory or airplay to view movies on my TV. Apple is streaming with extra steps, so no thanks to that.

Having lived through the early 90's when it wasn't at all clear whether Apple would be around in 5 years, this sounds funny to me.

Yea and once that glue dries up everything breaks apart. Any movies I've used an MA code for can easily disappear if MA goes out of business. Same with Vudu which has been bought out several times. If you prefer those that's fine, but don't make fake excuses about other hardware needed. Apple works without any extra steps as Vudu unless you somehow have a smart tv with Vudu and not Apple. For 99% of users, it's exactly the same process.
