I have 128 GB card. It is good for taking pictures, but video recording the card becomes too hot within 10 min and the camera complains about it. So no for video recording.

By the you need to buy card reader too.

I use these in my Canon R5. I use multiple 128 cards ( this brand) and prefer not to have them all on one card. Do not shoot much video, though.
The 128 is currently 79.99 on Amazon

I use XQD card doesn't give that problem. So, it is the card. Read reviews of that card.

No you don't. Just use the USB output of your camera

This is the "IN" model, which I suspect is the older version. Nikon specifically mentioned that it is not compatible with Z8.
