That hasn't been my experience. I bought 3 pairs of colored chinos about two years ago and they've been comfortable and held up to weekly use/washing. I don't have any shirts though so I can't comment on their quality.

JCREW Has gone down the same path as Banana Republic. They have cut corners on quality and QA.

Ive been very happy with all of my J Crew Factory purchases over the years. For the price Ive paid, I think it offers pretty good value for the style I like. I am very gentle on my clothes though. Wash on cold and only use the dryer for ~5min and air dry the rest of the way. Ive bought shirts, jackets, shorts, and chinos from JCF and all basically new after many wears each. Definitely not worth full price but their periodic sales offer compelling values for the style.

There isn't a jcrew close to me besides traveling a while to get there. Any way to get fast shipping like 2 days or less without paying a lot?


Anyone have experience with their t shirts like the plain color ones? They seem to be mostly cotton and some are 50/50 polyester.
