Switched to Paramount Essential which is free and included with W+ , but it says it will switch on Jan 31 and will charge me prorated rate until then.... And of course no way to cancel it. Now will have to reach out and waste time on this...

Their terms clearly said it will auto renew and that part was not hidden anywhere.

Moreover, if they were transparent abt this, they wouldnt end the subscription once you cancel auto renewal. Prime doesnt do that, even Hulu doesnt do that either. Frankly, dont remember any company in recent years that does this
Also, I cancelled immediately once received the "Congratulations!" email. Respectable company would cancel and not charge you since you havent used the service after the renewal. This is called pushing it onto customers who wouldnt remember to cancel on time half a year into the future.

I bet One Pass probably pays discounted group rate to Walmart to offer it as a perk and that Walmart is trying to charge them directly in which case they may try to pass it on to me but not sure how.
The right thing to do would be to contact customer service and ask wtf is going on but Id rather take my chances and see what happens

This pettiness from Walmart is enough reason to not renew W+
Walmart will never be Amazon, that I know for sure. They will remain the ghetto shopping destination that most folks would despise to set foot in
