Not boxer BRIEFS for anyone not looking too closely as I have definitely done before.
Most likely the heat from your dryer is damaging the elastic fibers over time. Hang drying will lengthen its life and based on its material, these undies will dry quickly.

I love these -- great for athletics and for all day use! I like the baggy boxer feel, but with the breathable material. Sadly, the elastic wears out after about a year or so.
this was my experience too except it was less than a year before the elastic wore out and they began to ride up.

Then I switched to Duluth and they were good too, but only worth it if they were on sale. Those also didn't last very long though.

Right now I only wear the active mesh boxer briefs from 32degrees which I still think are the best out of the 3. Not only are they much cheaper, but for my thicc legs they fit better and don't ride up.

I will say tho, the last 4 pack of 32Degrees did not have the same quality as my pairs from several years ago. 3 out of the 4 developed holes in them. Just an FYI for anyone experiencing this with their brand, email customer service right away and if it is within a certain timeframe, they will reimburse you.

I like the 32Degrees active mesh for the same girthy leg concern you have. They don't ride up at all in jeans, suit pants, running shorts or anything in between. I have one pair from a few years ago that developed a hole where the waistband attaches but all the others are just fine.
Weird. "Girthy Leg Concern" was the name of my high school cover band…

I think quality on the newer ones have gone down. I have old ones that dont pill while, the new ones pill in the first 2-3 washes.

I have a very different experience. I have their boxer briefs, and while I'm slightly embarrassed to share, I've had 15 to 20 pairs for about 5 years (2019) and I haven't found anything better.

Some are starting to pill, etc so I may try the recommendation in this thread but I have had great longevity and usage with my boxer briefs with high heat in the dryer.

I bought about 10 pairs of these several years ago. I now have 0 of them last. They don't last more than a few years tops. Plus. They're all synthetic which im no longer comfortable with anyway.

Wtf. That's a lot in that period of time. How much have you spent on underwear in that time?

Yes, after getting the 32 degrees ones, it is hard to justify paying a premium price for other brands. They are the most comfortable and very durable too. I throw them in the dryer with everything else and have not noticed any issues.

I have many of these boxers and bought 4 more.

The material has a texture to it that greatly helps keep my pants or shorts from slipping down my butt... almost as well as cotton without the moisture retention of cotton. Other synthetic boxers are slick, clingy and encourage me to walk around with my pants slid down half way around my butt. At 54 my daughter doesn't dig it when I sport the hood look

I have some of these boxers that are still holding up after 5 or 6 years. Drying on warm instead of hot greatly helps any elastic last much longer!

My favorite boxers are the bamboo fiber ones but those are very expensive.

No boxer briefs for me, thankyou!

I know these aren't boxer briefs, but I bought some exofficio boxer briefs in the past based on hype, and I don't see what all the hype was about. They're not remarkably comfortable. The material isn't exceptionally durable (they pill), and aside from that, they're just expensive for what really seems like some maybe slightly above average underwear.

You can get the 32 degree boxer briefs from Costco for much cheaper, and IMO, they're superior. More durable fabric that doesn't pill. Just as, if not more breathable and comfortable. I wear those at the gym.

If I'm going to pay a premium price for boxer briefs, it is going to be pouch underwear 100%. Especially for summer and anytime I go to work. It essentially eliminates my need to adjust my junk. I personally own Sheath (I buy it when it's marked down significantly), and I love them, but apparently there are other good brands now for cheaper, although I can't vouch for them. But I can vouch for the pouch.

^current super user of these and I fully agree with this solution. If taken care of in this way, these last a LONG time.

Backcountry.com price of $21.15 is also pretty good and you get free shipping $55+. Might work out better depending what else you get.

Love these - I've tried the Duluth comparable but they're slickish and not a similar material.

I've been wearing Exofficio boxers for almost exclusively for about 13 years. I've also bought the duluth ones when they are on sale. I slightly prefer the exofficio, though overall they are very similar. I think the Duluth seem slightly "heavier" or thicker...very slightly. About a year ago I stumbled upon Bolter boxers. They are very similar to the exofficio boxers, though I think they are very slightly "thinner" or lighter. I live in the deep south, so that is actually better to me. They have shown very good durability, and run about $12/pair. They are available on amazon, walmart, or their own site. They have a lot of other underwear options, but I think only this boxer has the very similar fabric to the exofficios. I bought them at WM because there's a popular rebate site that gives back a few percent that amazon doesn't have.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bolter.../222495674.

Right now I have exofficio, duluth, and bolter in the rotation, and my favorite is the bolter.

Also, FWIW, in my experience there was a year or two around 2018 or so where I think there was a "bad year" for exofficio boxers...the elastic in the waist went bad much more quickly than the ones I'd purchased previously, and there was some fabric pilling issues, but they seem to have corrected that in subsequent years.

Thanks. I always skim the comments for that extra detail or possible extra discount. Yeah, I can only wear the boxer briefs while hiking/backpacking.

I agree. Own 15 pairs when Amazon was having a sale on them a few years back. All holding up. I use Tide Free and Gentle specifically for my boxers/briefs on gentle cycle. The key is definitely to hang dry afterwards. Also, folding them at the waist, then rolling them up before putting them in your drawer probably helps (thoroughly researched them on different sites before I made my purchases).

I've been using these for pushing 10 years now??? Yes, it even says to air dry in the care instructions, but I dry them anyway. IF you use a lower heat setting that does help. Also they have swapped out the waistband starting a few years ago and new one seems to hold up much better to running through the drier.

Don't know if it is a dated picture or product, but at first glance this looks like the old waistband??? I could easily be wrong.

Anyway, great boxer short!
