Solid deal if you're okay buying a prebuilt. Unless you buy Falcon Northwest or some similar boutique kit, or else buy a laptop you're almost always gonna have some notable compromises versus building your own. At least Gamer's Nexus gave Skytech a decent recommendation for not totally sucking versus most of the Dell/etc crap. With this rig:

- no idea who makes the mobo or psu
- the ram is stupidly slow and will be a bottleneck the rest of the system in some games
- the radiator is a bit overkill for the extremely cool running 7800x3d.

Despite those criticisms, this Skytech is absolutely a deal worth considering. As a comparison, I spec'd a few systems on PCpartpicker and came up with this:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QJpCxH

- quality parts across the board with maybe only the ssd being suspect, but it's fine for gaming and is 4tb instead of Skytech's more modest 2tb.
- very good bang-for-the-buck rgb Lian Li case and plenty of other great options around $100
- Swapped Skytech's liquid cpu cooler for a Peerless Assassin air cooler. Then upgraded the 4090 to the MSI Suprim liquid cooled model.
- any number of x670 or b650 mobos fit the bill. This one has WiFi and 3x m.2 2280 ssd slots for plenty of storage upgrades
- 6000MHz ram with low CAS & first word latencies versus the crap 5200 sticks in the Skytech
- Solid fully modular Corsair power supply with the proper plug for a 4090
- windows 11 pro OEM included. I didn't cheat by not including the OS.

the 7800X3D is and has been the best gaming CPU available in the market for a while now. There isn't much you would need to upgrade if you bought this. The only thing that I see you could replace/upgrade/add would be the ram, case fans, storage, M&K, and maybe the cooler, if you preferred something else. Besides these you should be set for a good while before you have to consider upgrading.

This looks like a killer deal. I have been working on pcpartpicker and this is close to the minimal price point.

your build is far preferrable. the 6000vs5200 is really not much of a big deal but the rest is. that said w11 shouldn't be that much. it's about $35 pretty reliably. and if you are getting a dvd how are you going to load it...
Agreed that no one needs to spend $160 on Windows Pro.

The OPs post doesn't come with windows pro, so that's silly to include. Also, for real comparison purposes he should have thrown in an AIO. The liquid cooled 4090 is actually one of the cheapest you can buy, for some reason the air cooled models are all going for more, so that is ok.

The problem with the i9 is that there isn't a cooling solution on the market that is able to handle it. Therefore, this AMD process is functionally the best processor on the market, because you know, it actually works.
7800x3d beats the pants off the i9.
Intel is still good processors in the i5 and i7s, but for a gaming system the choice is a no brainer. i9s are way too hot and they STILL get beaten out by far by the 7800x3d when it comes to gaming.

Wow, for a pre-built out of box deal, this looks like a really good deal!

I'm running a 7800X3D and an RTX 4080 computer with 64GB of RAM (ram is overkill, yes)....
64GB will be the new std for UE5 gaming so you made the right future proofing decision. Wink

My sky tech (different model) had a bad PSU and they used a splitter on the PSU to GPU connection, causing it to crash under load. FYI build quality is suspect

Slow memory and old WiFi. Would expect more for that price.

Your build is fine for DIY, but it's not really better than the Skytech rig. You can always buy 2TB NVMe or DDR5-6000 RAM if you wanted to upgrade the Skytech.

Can this run games in 4K? Do I need a 4090 for that or can I get by on a 4080? Diablo 4 and Starfield.

I run the Arctic cooling 420mm AIO and it keeps my i9 from throttling and below 100c on the even cinebench, prime95, etc.

Depends on what level of fidelity and FPS you're ok with.

Skytech did me right when I needed to warranty the GPU. They even ended up upgrading it. They didn't hassle me, they believed the troubleshooting I'd done, and I think they even paid shipping both ways.

Anyway, I'd buy a computer again from them in an instant, and this is a great price.

I did see that they contract out the first layer of support, so I wasn't sure I wasn't going to get scammed until I got an email from a Skytech domain.

One other thing, I think their build quality is really high. Cable management is good, and shipping/packaging is really good. They pack the inside of the case so nothing moves. I was really impressed with the purchase, even more than NZXT, to be honest.
