If you don't have a subwoofer, you don't have a good system.
Large towers within a slickdealers budget are not going to have the extension of a home theatre subwoofer. When you listen to music, you will be missing parts of the song. If the bass is too loud, then turn it down -- you will still have the extension below 30hz that you're missing from the rest of your speakers.

I don't think i am ready to nvest in SB3000
What about sb-1000pro?
It actually cost the same $500, and has the same size?
You might take a look at the size of the RSL 10/12. If they work they are in your price range and may be good enough and work for you.
You may have to wait for availability, you get 30 days to try it out & it will cost you to return it.
RSL are a smaller footprint

A sub can also be like a BMW or rolex if you are into that type of bling bling. you don't really need a sub if you can't ever use loud loud bass. If you really want something loud an don't get to make your own decisions in your house as to what to do. I might suggest getting the vehicle fit with a legit system an leaving the problems at home. Also for when I'm doing things not involving driving I just have really good headphones/earbuds in 24/7. If others around you are the reason you can't have a good system; then a good headset will also prevent them from expressing their other forms of control over you as easy as they once used to.

Great sound, punchy bass. Vocals are very intelligible down to the lowest listening levels. My Boston Acoustics towers + Yamaha system just became paperweights.
I got a SB1000 Pro too. At sane listening levels,I actually enjoy the Wireless without the sub better. As soon as you plugin a sub, it the wireless enables an 80Hz high pass filter to make room for the sub, but you lose the perfectly tuned low end and punchiness of the wireless. At very high volume, the DSP limits the low end driver and you want the sub to offload the low end to get to max volume.
Very clean, crisp, clear, enjoyable and fun!

I ended up getting a pair of Onyx Studio 7 and they work great as BT speakers for the TV. Will lookout for better sale on these as I really want to try these speakers.
