I purchased the Q5+ and it worked great for about 2 years (this was the longest successful unit far surpassing the Roomba) then just quit working correctly. I replaced the battery thinking its no longer holding charge. It would not return to base... started just stopping in the middle of a room. Would clean the same room over and over when not programed to do so. Not sure if the later models have a better reliability record but to pay $400+ for a unit I expect more than 2 years of service. 4-5 years seems more reasonable...

We've had the s8 pro ultra for a few mo this now, bought at $1000, vacuum and mop every day and it's been amazing. So nice having fresh clean floors everyday with zero effort beside emptying dirty, refilling clean water every 4 or so days. Can't personally comment on legevity but it's got a good warranty and I highly recommend it. Honestly any robot vacuum just in general, it's a huge quality of life boost.

I have had a Roborock S4 for over 4 years and it's still working pretty well. It doesn't fill the bin as much as it used to, but I've done just normal maintenance and replaced the battery once so overall I don't really have any complaints. This S8 is tempting at that price. Would be cool to jump to the auto-empty bins, but I'm realistic considering the cost.

Edit: I think I'm going to give it a try.

Code: ROBOROCKS gives an additional $10 off and looks like there might be a cashback site out there which gives 5% back

EDIT: Code is not stackable with the 10% discount (which is the better discount)

If they make 10,000 units, they will program 30% of them stop working randomly after 2-3 years so you will have to buy new ones. That's how these scamers make money.
