How does this compare to the Gigabyte and Acer 4k 144hz monitors? Is the picture quality pretty similar? Any backlight issues?

28" 4k your desktop icons will be super tiny . I bought the 32" 4k 144gz G70B I think it just perfect .

Plus another vote for wishing this was 32".
28" 4k things are too small and have to be "scaled up" which gives you even less workspace.

32" 4k is very similar in ppi to 27" 1440p but about as much pixels / workspace as two separate 27" 1440p monitors. The perfect size/ratio/resolution for 2024 in my opinion.

Windows or macOS support scaling, and you can make icons and text whichever size you prefer ...

28" at 4K is the perfect size. I have had 32" and 28", and have replaced all 32" with 28" . And I always run these with no scaling.

This applies to typical screen distance of 2 feet or so.

I've been using this monitor for a little over a year. Pretty solid, had to do a lot of fiddling in the menus to get it to look like I want it to, but I'm very particular. It has HDR but don't buy it for that, it's HDR400 which is unusable imo.
