It's this price almost regularly in their app but good for those that aren't in their ecosystem yet.

You get better AI recognition, additional face recognition, and obviously more storage space. The good thing about home-based storage is that it's not on the camera. So if someone steals the camera wor memory card, you're not SOL. I had my homebase somewhere in the house. Be aware that homebase3 needs to be connected via ethernet, not via wifi. The wifi on it is just to extend your signal (2.4 ghz only).

When i enter the eufy app to view my cameras it takes a long time to load even when i'm on the same wifi network as the cameras. It takes about 20 seconds between decrypting and loading before any video streams.

Will the homebase3 help in this regard?

I have a reliable mesh network at home. Sometimes live view is immediate, sometimes it's 5 seconds, sometimes I have to click 'retry'. Same with or without HB3.

Yeah there's some history there. At first, Eufy was very well received by the privacy community, due to its local storage only options on earlier models. There was an issue with data privacy leaks back in maybe 2020 or so, and the level of trust tapered off.

However, in comparison to the Amazon owned equivalents, probably still the better choice.

Only thing better would be running your own closed loop system with wired cameras.

The issue was that they claimed the feeds were 100% secure while in reality they weren't encrypted, at all, when viewing from the web. Also if someone knew, or could guess, the address to your feed they could view your cameras.

Unlike what some other people say, the only thing this does for you in practicality is give you an extra copy of your videos separated from the camera. The AI is garbage, they never fulfilled their promise of supporting their existing models, and I end up, never using it.

I have a homebase 3 and S330 bundle. I was in love when I bought my kit. Especially with the no monthly. But after one thing broke Eufy support sucked like hell. These things aren't meant to last.
