Why does it have such a huge heatsink? Looks like the heatsink won't fit into the laptop. If that is the case, does it mean that the drive will throttle to keep itself cool? If so, does it make the Gen5 speed unreachable on the laptop and I should just get PCIe Gen4?

Gen 5 drives produce a lot of heat. If your laptop uses a Gen 5 drive, it probably has a built in heatsink for it. Check your laptop specs. It probably uses a Gen 4 drive.
