$130 for both, and Kreg makes quality tools from my experience. I'm not saying Ryobi isn't quality, just this particular item I've not seen a lot to get excited over. I love all of my other Ryobi tools though.
I was looking at this recently because I don't have a track saw, and I'm deep in the Ryobi ecosystem. Lots of reviews saying it's not accurate or "wiggles" and gets loose after a couple uses. I've decided to buy a couple Kreg pieces and use my current circular saw. Wound up being less $$ since I already have a circular saw.
I have no experience with track saws since I've never bought one but I've been thinking about one and researching for a while... I don't understand why everyone doesn't start with Wen. They get good reviews and are a third the price of the big name competitors. The Wen 7 1/4 corded track saw seems like the best deal in woodworking.

I did the same thing (also deep into Ryobi) but with the Bora NGX. The Bora gets some poor reviews as the connectors between the two pieces of straight edge are misaligned from the factory (mine were anyway). If you have another straight edge to reference the connected pieces, you can align them perfectly. A little loctite, and you are good to go for perfectly straight rips.

I was looking at this for a while but decided on wen track saw. It has served my needs but still like the cordless option. If the price was 100.00 I would jump on it.

I bought this from DTO the last time it went on sale for $160. I did find that my unit had some wiggle to it and Ryobi sent me another unit that was fine. I have used it for ripping down plywood to patch roof sheathing and it works fine. Frankly, it is my preferred saw for any sort of construction project. Is it as good as a Festool or some other track saws - absolutely not. Would i have bought the Ridgid saw for $300 if it has been available back then - probably. But it is a good value at $160 and i have never regrett owning it or felt the need to buy another one.

I got a track saw a few years ago, just as a homeowner, fantastic purchase. I didn't start with wen simply because I was buying it for convenience and part of that convenience was just buying a saw that will work great out of the box and last my lifetime so I never have to think about it. I went with the Makita corded one and have no regrets. Sure you can "start" with the wen, but you might end up elsewhere anyway. I just started and finished with the Makita

I have an ancient Eurekazone (RIP) track that has worked fine. The biggest problem I have with it is that between the track and the saw attachment, I can't get a full 1.5 inches of depth. It looks like some of these other add-on systems might share that problem. Also, you should make sure that you have enough track to rip a 4x8 lengthwise.

I got it because I had an uncle with three fingers on one hand because of a table saw.

Interesting…i've been using a circular saw for years with a 5' metal framing square as a guide. Any major advantage to a track if it's only used a few times a year for random projects?

Not really. Track saws are specifically great for cutting good straight clean edges on sheet goods, and really only recommend if you breakdown full sheets of plywood often. If you're not a woodworker or building cabinets it's more than fine just using your circular saw. Id probably look up a plywood zero clearance circular saw edge guide jig, I recall "stumpy nubs" had a straightforward vid if you want something "good enough".

Thanks for the heads up, I'm actually working with oak veneer plywood this weekend, rebuilding some built-in shelving in our den. Nothing too fancy, but I'll see how the edges turn out with the circular saw. 3 out of 4 edges will be sealed with caulk to trasition to the painted pieces, so a little bit of fraying/burring won't be too bad there. All else fails, maybe I'm in for one Wink

If you're convinced you want a cordless track saw (hey, maybe you're pairing it with a cordless vac) and trying to stay in a reasonable budget, I can't recommend enough considering the Bosch "track compatible" 7 1/4 circular saw (bosch gks18v-25gcn). Note that it has to be the 25gcn, NOT the 25cn. It's compatible with makita/festool tracks, so I bought one of the powertec ones when it was on sale.

This gets you a beast of a cordless circular saw, some very nice track, and a saw that also works very well on that track and can do deeper cuts than a "standard" track saw. If you shop well and don't mind buying refurb/used, you can manage to get it all to down around $200 if you already have bosch batteries.

It's not as capable of doing plunge cuts as a regular track saw, but depending on the work you do this might not matter at all, and it's still possible to make it plunge cut off needed (personally none of my track based cutting requires plunge cuts, but to each her own).

I saw the heap of negative reviews on the Ryobi and stayed away, as much as it was tempting. I have an older WEN corded track saw, but it's in another state right now (lol) and… honestly it's really nice not having to deal with weird sized blades. I did see the newer WEN corded 7 1/4, but wanted something cordless. The bosch saw + powertec track has been great, and wasn't $700+ or whatever like the top tier cordless track saws end up being.

Factory Blemished? What exactly could that mean? I think that probably should be mentioned in the OP.
