For me, it's the front-facing camera placement that makes the difference.

This model has it centered on the landscape mode vs the pro from last year has it centered for portrait mode.

I understand that that's a very specific use case, but a critical one for some.

The 128GB 12.9 M2 Pro model has been going on sale for $800, and refurbished models at Best Buy can be found in the $700-$800 range. If you are ok with refurbished (Geek squad), I'd go this route for the Pro model for the screen. Otherwise, this is a good deal.

The 128GB 12.9 M2 Pro model has been going on sale for $800, and refurbished models at Best Buy can be found in the $700-$800 range. If you are ok with refurbished (Geek squad), I'd go this route for the Pro model for the screen. Otherwise, this is a good deal.

Happy with my m2 12.9 256 open box BB. The newest air difference is colors, landscape camera and new pencil pro support. Lacks the better screen, speakers, cameras of the pro.

Comparable to the 11" iPad PRO 4th gen if you can still find it at Best Buy, with the PRO being slightly better by a core and camera.
